check, check, check

I gave the husband a list of things I though could be done last night at the house.  He says he finished the list and more.
What was done?
ceilings on the second floor were sanded
clawfoot tub was sanded (we’re just painting the outside)
kitchen was primed – I can’t believe how much brighter it is
cement backer board [...]

I never knew what these little stickers would mean to us…….

Another inspection approval.  The electric work was inspected on Friday and apparently approved.  We didn’t find out until today though.  Yay for not having to worry about that anymore.

yet another sweet, sweet first

I was err, cleaning up from lunch (cough, messing around on the internet, cough cough) and I started hearing a little voice from the living room.
“uh oh uh oh uh oh uh oh uh oh” repeated over and over and over again.
I thought maybe I should check it out.  I walked in and saw her [...]

sore

I got to work today. My mom and sister came up to watch Cora and I helped Kelly. I’m so tired and sore! But we got some things done.
We got all of the cupboards in the kitchen cleaned and filled the holes. We also got them sanded (by we here I [...]

slowing down

I had a realization today.  I’m not really enjoying this pregnancy.  Or life.  Or the remodel.  It’s all a beautiful process and I need to slow down and learn to enjoy the process.
I’m growing a baby.  A beautiful, tiny human being.  She is getting bigger and stronger and on her time she will come out [...]

you wouldn’t believe it if you didn’t see it

Because I don’t.  But we have the inspection approval sticker to go ahead with the drywall.  And the drywaller said his guys would be there first thing this morning to hang.  And be done by next Wednesday.  So that means our floor refinisher can be in next week sometime.
Things are obviously going slower then we [...]

praying

I got yelled at this morning. And cursed at. Repeatedly. My first reaction was to get angry. And cry. And get more angry. And call my mom and my husband.
Later in the day though, as my thoughts calmed and my head cleared, I got an overwhelming urge to pray [...]

doing the best I can

“profoundly flawed”
A phrase from one of my favorite blogs. I love those two words. It is what we are, who we are, what our existence is. Perhaps no two truer words were ever written.
The post I link to above is from “The Cleaner Plate Club” blog. It’s a great blog and [...]

knitting update

Here is my first knitting project.  As you can see, it’s coming fairly slowly.  I have a couple of inches done.  I’m getting a lot of help though so that is nice.  It is going to be a pair of knit pants for Cora called “longies”.  She’ll wear them with her cloth diapers.

football

I’m a girl.  I love football.  Some days I wonder if I like football more than my husband.
I was raised on football.  I remember my grandmother making runzas for home football games from many years ago.  I remember my grandfather going to the games.  And once he passed on the tickets to my parents, he [...]
