26 month old + 4 week old + 550 miles in a minivan = not the best idea we’ve ever had

You guessed it, road trip.  For Christmas.
I should have taken a picture of the living room after the husband emptied out the  minivan.  The floor was covered with luggage and toys and presents and junk.
I’m about halfway through cleaning it up.  The 26 month old is in bed, still talking to herself.  The 4 week [...]

4 weeks

Dear Della,
4 weeks already, how could that possibly be?
You are such a sweet addition to our lives.  I thank God daily for you.  From the moment you were born, it just felt so right to have you with us.  You immediately filled a little hole in our family we didn’t know existed.
The last two nights [...]

expectations

I’m usually not one to have expectations about how an event should go.   I’m usually the one trying to talk some sense into people that do have expectations.  For Christmas Eve and Christmas I did though.  And was I let down?  You could say that I was.
I expected us to go to mass at [...]

tdf!

The husband got these from his boss for a Christmas gift. They were gone within 12 hours (between the two of us, of course). I’ve been contemplating for the last two weeks whether or not to buy another box. At $16.99 though, they are about $1 a chocolate and that is not [...]

the party

I’ve been attending a women’s bible study for the past 2 1/2 years with a group of fabulous, fabulous women.  This week I decided to host.
And I suggested everyone bring something to eat so we can have a little holiday get together.
I emailed everyone to remind them and suggested inviting the husbands and children too.
And [...]

two hands

What has given me two hands again:

(none of those pictures are me)

I’m so glad this baby girl likes a sling.  Her older sister did not.  I wonder if it is because I didn’t push the issue with Cora and I have been with Della.  It’s a necessity now.

So I have two hands.  And what can [...]

I remembered what I wanted to write about

My memory is so gone these days.  Not surprising I guess, just frustrating.  I remembered what I wanted to write about though.
I feel like I’m being cheated out of Christmas this year!  Isn’t that a terrible feeling to have?  I can’t believe Christmas is next week already.  I’m in full on newborn crazy stage and [...]

slow week

It’s been a slow week of posting for me around here.  I have a 2 week old baby who thinks 3 am is the time to be awake, not asleep.  For 2 hours.  So I’m a little tired.  A little angry.  Trying to get back into the swing of this parenting of a newborn business [...]

christmas cards

The Christmas cards have been signed, stuffed, sealed, stamped, addressed and are ready to be mailed.  54 cards.  It took over two hours (with two kids underfoot).  It was the most time we’ve spent together in a long time and we both commented on how nice it was.  Maybe it’s time for a date night?
What [...]

our conversation tonight

The husband is looking for cars online to purchase to replace our 1995 Honda Odyssey.  It is the car that lost it’s radiator last week.  And we are thinking leather would be much nicer with kids and wet winter feet and bodies.
him: “How about a pontiac montana?”
me: “no”
“Subaru Outback?”
“no”
“Dodge Caravan?”
“no”
“Lincoln Towncar?”
“does it have black tinted [...]
