Via Domestic Reflections I came across this article on how to be a more light-hearted parent and I love it!
I’ve always said that the days are long and the years are short. It is so true, the single most truthful item of parenting.
I especially love the years are short that she linked to, a [...]

same mom & dad, different girlies
Sometimes it’s amazing to me how different our girls are. Today for lunch I gave them the exact same food and they attacked it in very different ways.
Their lunch trays had this on them:
**2 garlic parmesan potato chips (a treat, not usually in the house)
**slice of mango
**pile of corn
**1/2 pb & jelly sandwich

cutting pages
Cora loves to cut and I had originally bought her a Kumon book about cutting to teach her how. We then bought another cutting book by Kumon since she worked through the first one so quickly. This one is going fast too and I want to come up with another option for cutting [...]

a few better pictures
of the doll. I signed up back here for the craft hope project. I started and finished my doll last night. It was the first doll I’ve made ever but I like how she turned out.

apricot sorbet
While I was googling for gluten free snack ideas, I came across this ‘recipe’ for apricot sorbet (scroll down to #18). It looks totally delicious and super easy. A nice snack for the warm months ahead! Let me know if you try it, I’ve added apricots to my grocery list for sure.

living with less
One of my goals for this year is to slow down, simplify, live with less, and be happy with it! One of the first steps is to get back on to working with our budget instead of working against it. A budget doesn’t have to feel like a cage that is trapping you [...]

update on the shoes
The husband told me they were ugly so they got sent back. It’s not that he has to love everything I wear, but I do like him to like it. I’m dressing for him almost as much as myself, right? And every time I looked at them all I could think about [...]

new game
A few weeks ago we had some friends over for dinner and they brought a game with them for us to try. It is called bananagrams and it was a ton of fun! And better yet, it’s a game that we can play with only the two of us.
We are always on the lookout [...]
